About Allan

Allan is a Graduate Sport Rehabilitator, having completed his degree at the University of Salford in 2007. He completed his PhD focusing on the assessment and prevention of knee injuries, in particular the ACL, in 2013. Allan's main interest lies in exercise rehabilitation, particularly of the knee and lower limb tendinopathies.

Since graduating Allan has worked mainly in Rugby Union, firstly at Caldy RUFC before moving to Sedgley Tigers as Head of the Medical Team at the start of the 2011-12 season. He is also Lead Sport Rehabilitator for the North of England Counties U-20s squad having also worked with England Handball & GB U-20s Basketball. Allan consults for a number of clubs across sports including football, netball and cricket.

Allan is Programme Leader of the Sport Rehabilitation degree programme at Salford University, having also taught at the Universities of Bradford and Derby. Allan is also the Excutive Committee Chair and CPD officer for the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT).
